Volunteerism

No Im not talking about rooting for the Big Orange. I’m talking about volunteering your time and talent to those less fortunate in our community. There are so many opportunities out there available to be a part of. I volunteer frequently with Habitat for Humanity. I make my living out of our community, and I feel it is the very least I can do to give back. Speaking of Habitat, we just recently wrapped up our Spring Blitz of 7 houses in 7 days in the Silverleaf Community. Myself and a friend, Marv House, volunteered a week together to serve as house leaders for the home we built. It was a lot of fun to see folks come out and work  – doing things they normally don’t or don’t get a chance to do.

I saw a great quote the other day that i’d like to share: “You have never really lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you”. How do you volunteer? What do like to get involved in? I’d love to hear from you.
